HISTORY OF ELEMENT SPORTS
IN BUSINESS SINCE 1996
Element Sports began life as Winchester Bicycle Center. In April 1996 John Todd purchased Winchester Bicycle Center, moved it to Apple Blossom Corners on S. Pleasant Valley, and renamed the store Element Sports. Todd
expanded the store’s product lines to include outdoor sporting goods other than just bicycles, as most cycling enthusiasts enjoy other outdoor activities, as well. He eventually relocated the store to its present location
on S. Loudoun St. In August 2014 the store changed ownership again to Josh Lewis: a former employee, local resident, and cycling enthusiast. The new ownership hopes to bring Element Sports to the next generation. We
continue Element Sports’ tradition of carrying excellent products and exceptional service. We understand that our customers are looking for value – products that work extremely well but don’t break the bank. To that end,
we have brought in new brands to provide our customers with the very best value around. We are also expanding the services we offer. We now offer professional bike fittings by certified fitters, something Element Sports
has never offered in the past. We will also be branching out into tour guiding. During the winter, so you don’t have to sit in your basement alone on your trainer, you can bring your bike to our store and use our trainers. And
as always, our staff are experts on where to go to enjoy the outdoors; we even provide maps to make it easy for you to find these wonderful places.
